Grow a Garden: What Happened To It?

Grow a Garden, a Roblox game that happened too fast, what happened to it? Grow a Garden is a Roblox game you have probably heard about. Grow a Garden is a simple game really, so we will go over all of what the game is, and what caused its downfall. This article is broken down into 3 main parts of the game, and it is highly suggested to read them all in order to understand all of it!
- The Concept
Grow a Garden is a really simple game, where you buy plant seeds from Sam, the seed shop owner. Once you have bought the seeds you go over to your farming plot to plant them. Now, you wait for the plants to become fully grown and harvest them once finished. Finally, sell your plants to Tom, the man who owns the selling stand and make some money! With more money, the better seeds you can buy to upgrade your farm! They also have a gear shop, pet shop, cosmetic shop, and crafting station! The gear shop is to buy various items in order to upgrade your garden! For example, the grandmaster sprinkler is something to place down and boost the plants size and growth speed by a lot!
Sometimes, the rarer items aren’t in stock. The higher the rarity, the rarer the seed/gear will most likely be in stock. There are many different rarities from highest to lowest: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythical, Divines, Prismatic, and Transcendent. Transcendent items are almost never in stock, so it’s very rare if you had one. The pet shop is where you can buy pet eggs that you can hatch to earn a pet! Different pets have different abilities and can help your garden become better! An example of a pet would be the golden lab, that has a chance to dig up a random seed every minute or so. An example of a really rare pet, the raccoon, goes to another player’s garden and steals a random plant from their garden.
You can also take fruits from another player, but it costs a hefty price of 37 robux! All of these are what build up what Grow a Garden is, so now it’s time to go into the history of the game!
- Admin Abuse & Origin
Jandel, the owner of Grow a Garden, started the main topic all about admin abuse, admin abuse is something that many people have used to gain many players where people would gather up at the exact same time to earn admin only items and mutations! This originally started off with some simple weather that could only be caused by Jandel triggering them, until it got wilder and wilder! Over time, he would create a new weather almost every single admin abuse and it made everybody happy! Eventually, many other game designers wanted to create an admin abuse of their own to break their own records! They also collabed with many celebrities like Travis Kelce, Flamingo, and the band Glass Animals! Grow a garden became a huge game, breaking record after record for most concurrent players, until a game started growing faster and faster… Steal a brainrot has a separate article that you can read but for now this is just a recap about the game! Steal a Brainrot, made by SpyderSammy, started making his own admin abuses and was growing really quickly, and Jandel had to make a move. Jandel then posted on his discord server that he would begin an admin abuse war against SpyderSammy on August 23, 2025, that would continue to crash the Roblox servers at that time.
Jandel won the admin abuse war against Steal a Brainrot but that wouldn’t stop Sammy from growing as well as many other popular games on Roblox…
- The Downfall of Grow a Garden
Eventually, Grow a Garden started making worse weekly updates that became repetitive and not enjoyable for many of the players, who once flocked to Roblox’s Grow a Garden are now abandoning the game in favor of competitors like Steal a Brainrot, which kept growing faster and faster. Jandel also stopped working on Grow a Garden very much, beginning a new game called Plants VS Brainrots, and also made lame admin abuses that didn’t peak their interests as much. Grow a Garden is still getting a weekly update, but they are not as big and as interesting, so go check it out for yourself to see!
