Spelling Bee
Did you know that the first ever spelling bee started in 1925, about 100 years ago? Even today, spelling bees are still exciting and are watched all around the country. Here at TMS, the spelling bee is held every year, and this time began on December 1st. Now let’s hear what our spelling bee champions have to say about it.
How was your experience in the Spelling Bee?
Ivee Valerie – Spelling bee Champion: Really fun!
Shriya Choudary – Spelling Bee Champion: It was fun! But it was also a bit scary.
Emma Judice – Spelling Bee Alternative: Umm it was kind of scary but it was fun, I really enjoyed it!
Do you plan to compete in the spelling bee again?
All: Yeah!
What did you like most about the spelling bee?
Ivee Valerie – Spelling Bee Champion: Probably that it wasn’t really big and it was just us there.
Shriya Choudary – Spelling Bee Champion: I liked that I got to learn new words that I have never seen or heard of before.
Emma Judice – Spelling Bee Alternative: Well I liked studying all the words and I like that I got really far because of that.
What do you have to say to kids who want to compete in the spelling bee next year?
Ivee Valerie Spelling Bee Champion: Just try hard and study hard because the words can get hard.
Shriya Choudary – Spelling Bee Champion: Just keep on trying to practice memorizing those words and don’t give up!
Emma Judice – Spelling Bee Alternative: Well if you just study and put in all the effort you can do great!
