If you were to travel about 7,000 miles, you would eventually reach the Philippines. This country is made up of thousands of islands and is known for its tropical beaches. In addition to the beaches, the Philippines features cities, mountains, and much more! Filipinos, the people who live there, are known for being welcoming and having huge respect for family and hard work. They are not only friendly but also great cooks. They cook a wide variety of unique and special meals that you can’t find anywhere else! To learn more about the people, here are some Filipinos from TMS!

“Sinigang because it’s delicious and sour!”

“They are always joyful and happy, if you go to the Philippines you’ll see what I mean. You can always interact with people a lot.”

“On New Years you run into everybody’s room and wake them up and we wear sparkly stuff.”

“During the holidays we always have puncit, lechon, lumpia. During Christmas, we celebrate on Christmas Eve and wait till midnight to celebrate the birth of Jesus.”
