How to Romanticize Autumn
Autumn is one of the most beautiful and romantic seasons of all times. The beautiful fall leaves and weather cooling. The rain and cinnamon. Halloween and pumpkins. These are some of the best things about autumn. As things start slowing down the world falls asleep into winter. It is very important to celebrate the small things and romanticize this short season. Here are some little ways to romanticize autumn and make the most out of it.
- Creating an autumn bucket list
It is so important to make a list of all the things you want to get done, especially during autumn. Here are some ideas you can add into your autumn bucket list: bake a pie, eating bread dipped in warm soup for breakfast, going to a nearby cafe, going on a long autumnal walk and watch the leaves change color and fall, making crafts with the fallen leaves you’ve collected from your walk, going apple picking, creating a lookbook of comfy outfits, learning to crochet, and writing a letter to future self next autumn with a quill pen and under the cozy candlelight.
- Making a cozy, autumn music playlist
Have you ever realized just how much of a difference doing daily tasks with music on can make? Music can completely change the vibe of something. You can choose music that is cozy, slow, romantic, or nostalgic. Some songs you can add in your playlist are We Fell in Love in October, Cinnamon Girl, Fade into you, There she goes, Kiss me, Season of the Witch, and if you are looking for a classical piece, Autumn by Vivaldi is a great choice too.
- Writing a grateful list
Romanticizing your life is about being grateful and appreciating the tiny moments that make up most of our lives rather than waiting and only celebrating the rare and occasional big moments. One way to do this is to write a grateful list. Write down all the things that make you happy and be thankful for them. For example, the autumn leaves, food, music, spices, candy, Halloween, etc.
- Reading an autumnal book
There are so many books that have a very cozy and autumnal vibe. Here are some book ideas that give off a cozy, warm, or spooky vibe: Frankenstein, Anne of Green Gables, Carrie, I.T., Pet Semetary, The Raven, A Tell-Tale Heart, etc. Some of the best Halloween authors are Edgar Allen Poe and Steven King.
- Watching autumnal movies/shows
Similar to the idea of reading autumnal books, autumnal movies/shows will also help you get into the mood of the season. Movies you can consider watching are The Addams Family, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and Coraline. Shows you can watch are Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girls, Stranger Things, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Wednesday.
- Wearing autumnal outfits
Wearing autumnal clothes will be one of the first things that people will notice about you. It could help you get into the cozy and warm embrace of fall. To do this, you can wear autumnal colors, pieces, and even practice layering. Embrace colors like brown, cream, orange, dark red, purple, peach, gold, amber and tan. Include clothing pieces like knitted sweaters, cardigans, shawls, scarfs, trench coats, and warm, fluffy socks.
- Eat a warm and hearty breakfast
It is absolutely delightful to have a warm and hearty breakfast as the highlight of the day. Just take an extra 10 mins out of your morning to make a warm and delicious breakfast. Options you can choose are chocolate pancakes, french bread dipped in warm potato quiche or soup, pumpkin spice oats, warm cinnamon rolls, and cinnamon french toasts. Include all things cinnamon, vanilla, apple, and pumpkin.
These are just a few ways to romanticize this short lived and beautiful season. Add warmth and comfort to your life and simply slow down and go with the flow as the seasons passes. Savor every second of September, October, and November as well as all the other seasons, and be grateful for everything life brings you.

Thanks. That’s a really good idea that I’m actually hoping to do this year.
