The Timeline
If you’ve read all of the Rick Riordan series, (“Percy Jackson and The Olympians”, “Heroes of Olympus”, “Trials of Apollo”, “Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard”, and “The Kane Chronicles”) then you’ll probably be wondering what this book is about. After the last book in the Percy Jackson series, everything was all tied up and there were no loose ends. Kronos was defeated and Olympus was saved, so why add more books to the series? After the end of Heroes of Olympus, there are now two camps: Camp Half-Blood, for Greek demigods, and Camp Jupiter for Roman demigods. “The Chalice of the Gods” is set after the end of “Heroes of Olympus” and “The Trials of Apollo”, so you have to read those series before reading “The Chalice of the Gods”.
Overview
Percy Jackson is a senior in high school and has to pick which college he’s going to. Being a demigod, there aren’t many options but he’s planning on attending a college in New Rome built specifically for demigods. The only issue is, that he must get three letters of recommendation from the Greek gods. First up, Ganymede, cupbearer to the gods. Ganymede has lost his magical chalice, which has the power to turn any mortal that drinks from it into a god. If Percy can find it, he will get his first letter of recommendation.
What’s Next?
After this book, Rick Riordan is set to release a new book called, “The Wrath of the Triple Goddess” on September 24, 2024. This book will follow Percy, Annabeth, and Grover as they try to get Percy’s second letter of recommendation. To read more about the upcoming book, click here!
