Depression
Out of all the mental disorders there are, depression definitely stands out. Depression is a very serious mood disorder, it causes overwhelming symptoms such as disturbing a person’s thoughts, eating, doing daily activities, and overall routine. Depression is the thing that makes you not want to get up in the morning. Depression is the thing that makes you want to simply not do anything anymore. Something many people don’t know is that there are many types of depression, like major depression, perinatal depression, SAD (Seasonal affective disorder), and PDD (Persistent depressive disorder). Depression can affect anyone, of any age, race, gender, etc.

Facts About Depression
1: Women are diagnosed more often with depression than men, mostly because men are more likely to not recognize or talk about their symptoms. This puts them at greater risk of being untreated.
2: Depression can include mood changes like increased anger, being more on edge then usual, isolation from family and friends, feeling hopeless most of the time, and more symptoms like these.
3: Most of the time, depression can come to you in one of two ways. It could be given to you genetically, meaning someone in your family already struggles with it, or by a major life change that could affect you negatively.
Anxiety
Most of the time, if you have depression you will also have anxiety.
Have you ever been enjoying your day like normal, when all of a sudden you’re hit with this feeling of overwhelming dread? Ever feel like something awful is going to happen and you get that horrible feeling in your stomach? That’s anxiety. Most of the time anxiety appears when you’re about to do something big, like present to your class, or try out for the cheer team. But different people have different anxieties. There are many types but just to name a few, some people have Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), some people have Panic disorder, and some people have Social anxiety disorder. So let’s learn about the different types of anxiety.

Different Types Of Anxiety
1:Generalized anxiety disorder, or GAD, is the “normal” type of anxiety. People with this disorder worry about things in their daily lives, such as health, family, money, and other things. However, the worries people have with this disorder can become very excessive, they have these worries nearly every day.
2:Panic Disorder. This is quite a bad one. People with this disorder have random and unexpected panic attacks, during these panic attacks people often feel intense fear even when there is no danger in sight. People who have a panic disorder worry about when something bad will happen, so they tend to avoid certain places, people, and things. Panic attacks can happen several times a day or a couple of times a year.
3:Social anxiety is the fear or worry of being watched or judged by others. For some people, this anxiety disorder can get so intense that it can affect the person’s social activities, like going to school, going out, or doing everyday things.
Now that you know more about these awful mental disorders, you could make a difference in a person’s life! So the next time you see a person who looks down in the dumps, it could make a huge difference simply by asking them what’s wrong or giving them a hug.
