Halloween Arts and Crafts
Staring: Mrs.Mull!
Want to get crafty this October? Let’s ask our resident art teacher, Mrs.Mull, for some of her favorite fall crafts and ideas for your own!
What’s your favorite fall themed craft?
I love decorating for Halloween; inside the house, outside the house, I love all things spooky. I put up cobwebs, spiders, skeletons, Day of the Dead decor…it’s one of my favorite holidays. I also love carving pumpkins and get strangely competitive about having the best jacko-lantern.
What craft do you think students at TMS should do this month?
Definitely carve pumpkins. I also recommend making sugar cookies to decorate, then bring them to room 508 so that I can taste test for you.
Let’s get crafty!
Want to bake some pastries this fall? Let’s make some ghost puff pastries.
YOU WILL NEED :
- Puff pastry pre-made dough
- 1 egg
- white , black, and pink cookie frosting ( majority being white)
- Fruit jam
- Defrost puff pastry dough for however long the box instructs ( up to 40 minutes)
- Cut out ghosts in the pastry dough. If you don’t have a cookie cutter, trace a ghost on parchment paper and cut it out ( make an even number of ghosts!)
- Place down a ghost on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, add jam ( not too much or it’ll explode), and place another ghost on top. Use a fork to press down the sides and make little indentations
- Mix egg in a bowl. Use a pastry/ basting brush to coat each pastry with the egg
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
- Decorate!
All Done!
