How long have you been teaching the video production class?
I have been advising the Bobcat News team for four years. The first two years it was run just as a PRIDE class. For the last two years, the Bobcat News team has been incorporated into a Video Production Explore class.
How do you get into Vidoe production?
Students can apply to be in the Video Production class by completing an application during Club Rush in the spring of each year. Students must have a 3.0 GPA in their core classes and get a teacher’s recommendation. I try to have a balance of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
when can you join this class?
Students need to watch for the Video Production application instructions during Club Rush in the spring of each year. I reach out to the incoming 5th-grade classes at their elementary schools so that we have 6th-graders join each year.

Yes, you do have to wait till next school year but to be honest it’s worth the wait.
