Hey my paly mc pal pals, it’s ya boy Buzz. So I got a Switch 2 for Christmas with Donkey Kong Bananza and I was thinking, This is the first Donkey Kong game in a good while, 12 years, and the first one that’s 3D in a LONG time, 16 years ago! So let’s see if Donkey Bananza is good enough for daddy Nintendo to try making more 3d Donkey Kong games. The way I’ll be determining this is by 2 things, is the gameplay good and Is the art good?
First up the gameplay! So the gameplay is based on destroying things with your fists and platforming to find Banandium Gems. The Gameplay just works, due to almost everything being break-able. It’s fun to mess around with and really adds to the experience as it gives you many ways to deal with problems. It is kinda a collectathon (where you have to collect things to move on) so if you don’t like those kinds of games don’t play this one.
Second up is the art! So art in this scenario is the 3D models, and uh. Yeah they look good! The new Donkey Kong model looks great and really expressive. In fact this artstyle is super expressive and it looks great! In fact Here’s all of Donkey Kong’s Expressions for you guys
These look great and really goofy, I think it works great for him! The NPC models look nice as well. They look good but I think they could be a little better but still pretty good!
So all in all, could this help save the 3d donkey kong games? Yeah I think it’s great, I think this works well and it makes sense as this was made by the same team that made Mario Odyssey which is another great game! The gameplay format works and just really is fun! The Models are great and really work well! I mean Donkey Kong really does look great! But what do you guys think? Tell me in the comments below.
