Santa Claus was somebody we were told about since we were kids and we’ve all grown to love him. He’s known for his red suit trimmed with white and his iconic white beard. With everything that’s been going on this year, everyone needs some Christmas joy in their lives this season. Here are 5 facts about old Saint Nick to get you ready for the holiday spirit! - Santa Clause is based on a person named Saint Nicolaus, a Christian Bishop from the 4th century! He was known for being generous and caring. Saint Nicolaus was also known for wearing red robes.
- The myth about Santa delivering in one night is false! He has to deliver presents to 90 million homes in two days. The Earth rotates around the sun creating two different time zones and two different night times!

- Coca-cola helped shape the Santa we know today! In the English folk lore, he was originally a skinny elvish man that wore green robes. Coca-Cola took inspiration from Moore’s poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and since 1932, used it to advertise the Santa we know today
- Saint Nick has over a hundred names! Because of his popularity around the world he has been given countless names over the centuries. Some are Papai Noel from the Portuguese, Babbo Natele from the French, Weihnachtsmann from Germany, and the original Sinterklaas from the Dutch

- In 2025, Santa will be 1,755 years old! According to “History.com”, the myth about old Saint Nick started in the 4th or 3rd century. He’s changed multiple times over the years, from his story to his appearance!
