This fall you’ll have plenty of time to play video games, so here are some fun games to try out this fall, and the ultimate list of video games for you to play!
Hollow Knight: Silksong
This is a souls-like metroidvania made by Australian developers Team Cherry and came out in September of 2025. Meet Hornet, a weaver that is brought to the kingdom of Pharloom, filled with bugs who inhabit 29 different areas. While the gameplay is tough, the story is incredible along with the music, the backgrounds, the bosses, and the many enemies! It’s all incredible. One downside is every boss does double damage which in the early game when you don’t have many abilities is very difficult.
Mario Kart: World
Mario Kart: World is an open-world version of the hit Nintendo game. Play as multiple characters and race against said characters. With the new open world aspect of the game you can travel the Mario Kart world and participate in multiple races along the way! Unlike old Mario Kart games, in grand prix mode you don’t have 4 separate courses. Instead, players drive from race to race, which is a very cool idea and the race can have up to 24 players and at times can get very competitive.
Donkey Kong: Bananza
While Mario Kart is fun, there’s another Nintendo game that just recently came out. Donkey Kong Bananza is the newest edition of the Donkey Kong franchise. It features the unique ability to pick up, attack with, and even throw terrain. Its almost sandbox-like levels give it unique gameplay that can only be compared to a very few games. And in the game, you can get five power ups from five different NPCs across your adventure. All the while along the way, Pauline from Mario Odyssey accompanies you and is the main person who helps you get those five power ups.
