Summer is the perfect season to start your self-care routine. Ease yourself into the summertime mood with these calming activities and be ready too, sit back, relax, and enjoy the summer sun’s heat.
- Start a Summer Scrapbook
Not only is scrapbooking calming for the mind, but it also boosts your creative streak. You can add pictures of your summer experience, whether you’re taking photos of yourself at the beach or an amusement park, those pictures will add a perfect touch to your scrap collage.
- Go to Your Local Farmer’s Market
What could be more soothing than carousing around for organic, home-grown/made foods and items? This can open your food preferences, and you might find something to try that’s new and healthy for you!
- Organize a Small Area
Everyone has to love organizing when you’re not forced to. There are so many things you can categorize, from markers to books, to even jewelry. It’s a great way to put yourself at ease by having a clear space, yet not being obligated to clean it.
- Food Plans
Pack up multiple little snack packs. Pre-make your meals and store them away so that way you can have food on the go. Not only is it relaxing but also satisfying to see everything laid out for you and put away neatly. It’s a great way to plan out your meal times to live a more organized life-style for your summer glow-up.
- Make a Summer Mood Playlist
New summer. New songs. New playlist. What better way to get in the summertime spirit than summertime music? What are your favorite jams to listen to? Add them into your playlist! It’s a great way to calm your mind wherever you are. Whether you’re cooling down from the school year by resting at home or watching the sunset at the beach, a playlist of your favorite summer tunes will always get you in a good mood.
- Have a Picnic
Enjoying the sunshine is just what you need at this time of the year. Invite your friends, make some sandwiches, have a laugh, and enjoy the outside world around you.
- Make a Journal
Now that you have some free time now that school is over, you can spend it by letting out your emotions on paper. It’s a great way to relieve stress when you’re upset, a great place to share all the ups and downs in your life, or a place where you can express yourself any way you want. If you’re not in the mood to write anything, you can simply express yourself by just doodling in it. You can look back on what you wrote this summer of 2025 when you’re older and it will bring back all these good memories.
- Do a Self-Care/Spa Day At Home
What would a summer self-care list be without a spa day? There’s so much you can do. You can make a checklist of all the steps you can do for your routine, do your skincare routine, put on a face mask, make a face mask, take a slow bath, do your hair care routine, do your nails, and so much more.
- Make a Blind Bag
I know you may have seen those ASMR videos all over the internet with people making blind bags and opening them. These are fun to make and are so satisfying to unbox and tear apart. It’s such a creative craft to spend your free time on this summer. There are so many ways to decorate them, and there are a ton of topics to choose from, such as accessorizing a paper doll, mystery fidgets, or even squishy roblox blind bags. It’s a great way to let your creativity flow however you want without any guidelines.
- Try a New Exercise
It’s great to have a change in pace once in a while, so why not, with all this time on your hands, try out a different exercise setup from your regular routine. Exercise improves your mood, boosts your energy, and combats diseases. If you don’t have a standard exercise routine, it’s a great time to plan yours out this summer.
Be sure to consider adding these relaxing options to your summer self-care bucketlist. What are you going to do over summer break? Comment your thoughts!
