The Year of Film

New year, many new movies to come. With new movies, sequels, and prequels, 2025 will be the year of film. From Jurassic World: Rebirth, to Wicked: For Good, all the movie industries will be busy this year, and audiences will be back in the movie theatre each month for a new, eventful movie.

Avatar 3

Avatar 3 is coming out on December 19, 2025. The 3rd will not only be introducing 2 new tribes, one of which will be the “Ash people”,  but also new characters such as the leader of the volcanic ash people, Varang, and Peylak, a Na’vi character. The plot is supposed to keep you on your toes since “In the early films, there are very negative human and very positive Na’vi examples. In Avatar 3, we will do the opposite. We will also explore new worlds while continuing the main characters’ story. I can say that the last parts will be the best. The others were an introduction, a way to set the table before serving the meal”(Yahoo.com.).

                                                   How To Train Your Dragon 

Finally, the 2010 classic How To Train Your Dragon is officially becoming a live-action movie. Starring Mason Thames as the main character Hiccup, and Nico Parker as Astrid. June 13 is the official release date of the film and it will follow a similar plot as the 2010 cartoon film. Here is a trailer: How To Train Your Dragon

Jurassic World Rebirth

Aquilops, Titanosaurus, and a new version of Spinosaurus are just some of the new creatures you are guaranteed to see in the new Jurassic World: Rebirth. July 2nd, 2025 the new movie will come to theaters, with many expecting an entirely new cast and movie plot. The directors of the movie are trying to go in a new direction and make it bigger, better, and a little more frightening than it was before, truly trying to top all the other movies they have made.

Still starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as Glinda and Elphaba, Wicked For Good will be released on November 21st, 2025, practically the same day Wicked was released on March 22nd, 2024. The new movie is expected to be about the other half of the Broadway musical since Wicked was supposed to be about part 1, and Wicked For Good will be about part 2 of the play.  The main idea of the second film will be about how Elphaba is still fighting for animal rights and becomes even more misunderstood by the people of Oz while connecting with Fiyero and confessing the love they have for each other. While this is happening Glinda is having her dream come true and becoming the good witch trained by the headmasters. Soon, this all leads to a girl throwing a fatal bucket of water at one of the witches.

Snow White

The classic 1937 fairytale of Snow White will finally return to theaters as a new live-action movie. Directed by Marc Webb, Snow White will be coming out very soon on March 21, 2025! With Rachel Zegler playing the main role of Snow White, she and her 7 dwarfs will go through an exciting journey trying to survive the Evil Queen played by Gal Gadot.                                                                        A Minecraft Movie

On April 4th, 2025 a new film will appear in theaters about how 4 people suddenly find themselves in a cube world on the other side of a weird portal. With an expert crafter with them, they must figure out how to get out of this mysterious new world. Here is a trailer: A Minecraft Movie

Freakier Friday

Twenty-two years later, a sequel to Freaky Friday is coming to theaters on August 8th, 2025! With Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan still keeping the two main characters roles of Tess and Anna Coleman. According to imdb.com “Years after Tess and Anna endured an identity crisis, Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might strike twice”.
