Dive Into Season 2; Percy Jackson

Disney+ has revealed its most-watched TV Series of 2024. It’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians! This loved show is confirmed to release its highly anticipated second season THIS YEAR. Are you excited? If so, read on! (spoilers ahead!!)

Release Date?

Unfortunately, there has not been a confirmed release date for the second season. We can expect to see Percy and more of the loved characters sometime this year confirmed by Disney during the D23 expo in August of 2024.

Expectations

After the success of the first season, fans are excited to see how the show will hold up. Since this show is of course based on the original series by Rick Riordan, we can expect the new season to be based on book 2, The Sea of Monsters. We can expect to meet new characters. This season also consists of changes in friendships and the disappearance of a close friend of Percy’s. 

New Cast Members

With the new season, there are new cast members for the new characters being introduced. Daniel Diemer takes the role of Tyson, and Timothy Simons as King Tantalus. Percy meets some gods in this season like Athena (Andra Day), Zeus (Courtney B. Vance), and more. We finally get to meet Thalia Grace which Tamara Smart takes the role of. In season 1, we got to see Andrew Alvarez as Chris Rodriguez in the series but with the new season, he got recast with Kevin Chacon. 

Recap 

We saw Percy Jackson get used to his magical abilities and figure himself out in season 1. After all his adventures, he goes back to Half-Blood camp and finds out that Luke is a traitor. This confirmed the prophecy “You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend”. After some bickering, Percy stops Luke from going into a secret backdoor with Annabeth helping Percy when he’s down. Luke then runs off which marks the ending of the season.
