Finally, the 8th graders are leaving middle school and moving on to high school. Through these amazing three years, many memories have been made that aren’t over just yet. Coming up is the 8th-grade Knots Berry Farm field trip, the awards ceremony, and promotion. From the 6th-grade grit, grace, and glow dance to our 7th-grade reading of The Outsiders and finally to 8th-grade promotion, these have been exciting years. We were able to interview a few of our 8th-grade students and their teachers for a farewell.

Through these three years, we have had multiple amazing teachers, and in this article, we were able to figure out what a few of the 8th-grade teachers were thinking about the 24/25 class leaving.

“Join lots of clubs, you get to meet lots of like-minded people.”

“They bring so much life, joy, and fun to every day, they are great
leaders for the younger students.”

How would you describe your high school experience?
“My high school experience was awesome. I had so many, many friends that I still stay in touch with. I had a great teacher, it was a wonderful time, and my sports teams I played on were outstanding.”

“For the most part, they are doing a fantastic job at preparing themselves for high school.”

What are you going to miss about your eighth graders?
“I’m going to miss that they always laugh at my jokes, they think that I’m the best teacher they’ve ever had. They regularly bring me presents, they donated a lot of pencils to my class.”

What advice would you give eighth graders for High school?
“Make one new friend, somebody that doesn’t go to your middle school. Do your homework because grades matter, I tell my kids, grades equal scholarships.”
