Celebrate TMS’s Teacher Of The Year
5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Happy New Year! Another great school year at TMS has passed, and that means that we have to decide who was the Teacher of the Year! Who could it be? It’s our wonderful 6th-grade math teacher, Mrs. Pierce! What made her win Teacher of the Year? How did she get to the point she is today? Let’s interview her to find out!
Interview with Mrs. Pierce:
How long have you been teaching at TMS, and have you ever taught anywhere else?
Mrs Pierce: I have been teaching for 15 years, 10 years here at TMS, and 5 years at another school .
What college did you go to, and what was your major?
Mrs. Pierce: I went to UC Riverside on a volleyball scholarship with a major in education.”
Do you have a specific method of teaching?
Mrs. Pierce: Students love to go to class if their class is fun, so I try to make my class as fun as possible!
Why did you choose to teach math?
Mrs Pierce: I originally taught language arts and didn’t like it at all. Around this time, I noticed that kids hated math, and I wanted to change that and make math fun.

Now that you know all about Mrs. Pierce, let’s see what fellow TMS students think about her! Do they think that she is as awesome as our administration thinks?
Kiera Robinson, 6th grade: I think she is super nice; she is the best!

Lexi Sproule, 7th grade: She makes learning fun; she is the best!

Ian Fisher, 8th grade: She is really nice and doesn’t give homework.
Now that you know how awesome she is, do you think she should’ve won this award? Do you want her as her math teacher next year? Comment below!
