The wintertime brings many fun things with it, hot cocoa, snowy hills, and holidays! There are so many different holidays that happen around wintertime that are celebrated by so many different people. The students and staff at TMS have some fun holiday traditions.
What is your favorite holiday tradition in your family?:
- 7th grader, Aliyah Allan, “ Going to my cousin’s house for Christmas.”
- 7th grader, Keara Del La Rosa, “ Parties with a Jumpy House.”
- 7th grader, Kacen Hamilton, “ Going to Michigan to see family.”
- 6th grade math teacher Mrs. Pierce, “ My whole family comes over on Christmas Eve and we play games, exchange gifts, and exchange money.”
- 8th grade science teacher Mrs. Crippen, “On Christmas Eve my family comes and we all make nachos.”
What is your go-to holiday dish?:
- Aliyah Allan, “ Definitely tamales.”
- Keara Del La Rosa, “ Alfredo with chicken.”
- Kacen Hamilton, “ I love Yams with syrup.”
- Mrs Pierce, “ I love the Christmas desserts, like reindeer poop. And I love Christmas crack!” (Two holiday desserts with chocolate.)
What is the best gift you’ve gotten?:
- Aliyah Allen, “ I got a trampoline one year.”
- Kear Del La Rosa, “ My V.R. was probably the best.”
- Kacen Hamilton, “ My best gift was an Xbox.”
- Mrs. Pierce, “ I got a motorcycle when I was twelve. I remember seeing it under my christmas tree with a big bow on it.”
- Mrs. Crippen, “ I got a nintendo switch one time, it was when it first came out so I was really excited.”
The holiday season is one of the greatest times of the year. The amazing food made in a cozy kitchen, all the gifts given by friends and family, and the traditions that are shared with the people we love. This holiday season will be spectacular and fun! So happy holidays to all the students and staff here at TMS!

I like knowing about peoples holiday traditions. It gives me a great view on other people’s lives. (:
