You’ve probably seen the Bobcat logo around the school. From the office doors to Bobby the bobcat. However, do you know the history behind our logo and how it originated?
We asked Mr. Morton, our school principal, for the inside details. Here’s what he had to say.
Who invented our school logo?
“I think the last principal adopted that logo, ten to fifteen years ago and it’s based on the mascot of the University of Ohio. So recently, and this is very recently, this breaking news, our district works with a graphic designer company, and the designer company told me, it would be wise to update our school logo because it’s a little bit too similar to the University of Ohio’s logo. It needs to be a little bit different, so I’ve been working with a graphic artist, for the last month or so, to update it. It’s not a big change but, it’s a little bit of a change to the bobcat face. The other thing, they also said we need a version of our school logo that has a body to it so we’ve been working on designing the body of the cat and so I want it to look like a tough cat because you know bobcats are tough. So we’ve been trying to figure out how much muscle it should have.”
As you can see, our logo has had a ton of work and thought put into it. Mr. Morton also said that the doors/windows of our classrooms will be getting an upgrade. The doors will become perforated vinyl doors with pictures of our new bobcat logo.
So, you might be wondering, what does this new logo look like and when should we expect to see it. You should expect to see some changes after spring break. As for what the new logo looks like, we were able to get a picture, shown below.
So what do you think? Do you prefer the old logo or the new logo? Let us know in the comments!
