Steal A Brainrot: What’s The Hype?
By: Riki El-Abdallah
Steal A Brainrot; a roblox game that has peaked over 24.1M active players, passing multiple Roblox games in the dust. What’s so good about it?
This article is broken down into 3 main parts of the game and its history! Reading them in order is highly suggested to understand all of the game.
- The Concept
Firstly, we need to know about the game and what it is all about. Steal a brainrot is a game where you buy brainrots of different rarities that walk down a red carpet for you to buy! Examples of these brainrots are Lirili Larila, Trippi Troppi, Odin Din Din Dun, Tralalero Tralala, Orcalalero Orcala, and more. There are also female versions of these Italian brainrot characters like Tralalita Tralala and Orcalita Orcala. Many brainrots also have baby versions, such as Los Orcalitos, Los Tralaleritos, and Las Tralaleritas. Once you buy a brainrot, you have to protect it with the wooden bat they provide you with, while it slowly heads over to your base. The brainrot then makes money for you; the higher the rarity, the more money it will generate for you! Of course, there are more ways to get rarer, better brainrots, which is the stealing part of the game!
Of course, stealing isn’t really a good thing, but this is a big part of the game to cover since it’s important. Your base has a button that locks it for 60 seconds (1 minute) and stops others from trying to take from you. The button timer until you can lock it again goes up by 10 seconds each time you rebirth!
Rebirthing is another mechanic of the game; it gives you a money requirement and a specific brainrot or two, and once you get the necessary requirements, you mainly get upgrades from your base like a 2nd or 3rd floor for your base and cash multipliers, but there is a big drawback. Rebirthing will automatically delete all of the brainrots currently inside of your base and also reset your money back down to a small amount.
The game also has a craft machine where you can turn in specific brainrots in order to make one powerful brainrot! Examples of the powerful brainrots are Los Bros, which generate 37.5M dollars! Of course, getting these powerful brainrots is not an easy task, so the creator, SpyderSammy, designed the craft machine to randomize the craftable brainrots every 30 minutes! Steal A Brainrot has a shop where you can buy gears and random items that could be useful to mess around with your friends and have a fun time! Of course, the gears could also help you with stealing from others, like the bear trap, which traps a player and disables their movement for 5-10 seconds!
Now, all of that builds up what Steal A Brainrot is mainly about, but now it’s time to explain how they broke Roblox on September 13, 2025.
- Admin Abuse & Origin
SpyderSammy, the creator of the game, started releasing updates weekly. Normally, people would go to their favorite game and check out the update a few hours after it would release, but Sammy had an idea. He would start giving away rare and valuable admin only brainrots/items exactly 1 hour before the update would release!
This made it so nobody would want to miss all of the free rewards, gathering every player online to get admin-only items! This would later on be mentioned as admin abuse, due to the admin only rewards and valuables. The most famous part of the weekly admin abuses were the infamous “Sammy Snap”! This would activate every single event in the game all at once! These admin abuses usually always happen on Saturdays at 12:00 PM.Another rivaling game did this as well, called “Grow A Garden” by another Roblox developer named Jandel. Jandel made the first record breaking game before Sammy would, due to Jandel’s use of admin abuse; he broke the first record, reaching up to 20M concurrent players before Steal A Brainrot. Jandel has also done admin abuse with other big celebrities like Travis Kelce and the famous Roblox youtuber Flamingo.
- The Admin Abuse War
Once Jandel heard about Steal A Brainrot and how it had slowly been growing more and more recently, he declared war on SpyderSammy, beginning on August 23, 2025. On that day, Jandel beat SpyderSammy with 22M concurrent players, while Steal A Brainrot had 20M players; the game was obviously increasing in player count. But,eventually, the admin abuse war fully broke Roblox, since many other games were influenced by Grow A Garden and Steal A Brainrot, they decided to do admin abuse of their own at the same time. This meant that other big games, like Blox Fruits and 99 Nights In The Forest, were joining in. This caused the Roblox servers to be full, and nobody could join any games. Friends weren’t loading, and games wouldn’t show up on the main menu anymore. Steal A Brainrot was getting bigger and bigger by the minute. Eventually, Grow A Garden wasn’t as big as it used to be, resulting in worse weekly updates and losing their active players. Sammy was still getting better and better, hosting admin abuses twice for those who missed out on the Saturday admin abuse due to weekend plans. He also hosted the 2nd admin abuse on Tuesdays at 2:00-2:45 or 3:00-3:45, calling it “Taco Tuesday Admin Abuse”. And Steal A Brainrot didn’t stop, eventually, on September 13, 2025, they broke the world record for most concurrent players, at 24.1M. This eventually broke Roblox again, and passed Fortnite’s current player record, as well as passing everybody using Steam, (the game engine at that time).
Steal A Brainrot is still growing to this day, and who knows how far it will go? Check out the game for yourself! Who knows what will happen?
