Have you ever wondered what makes TMS such a great school? Mrs. Jenkin’s excluded special needs PE class is a great reason!
Mrs. Jenkin’s excluded PE class is when she works with special ed students that may need some extra help. It takes place during fourth period. She takes the time to individually work with the students on their athletic skills. We interviewed Mrs. Jenkins on some questions and here are her answers!
What do the students do during the class?
“The separate class practices certain skills. For example, if they need help dribbling and drubbing with the ball we will individually work with them in that certain skill.”
Do you have any TAs during the class?
“Yes! We call them peer buddies and it is their elective.”
What grades can the TAs be?
“We started with seven and eighth and we have one sixth grader that knew them from elementary school so it really depends on the sixth grader.”
What is your favorite part about teaching the students?
“I love seeing them develop skills and the joy they have when they finally get something!”
Mrs. Jenkins makes PE fun for everyone at TMS! Make sure to say hi when you see her!
