CJSF stands for California Junior Scholarship Federation which 8th graders can receive during their last year here at TMS for their good grades and academic achievements. CJSF is used to train middle school students for high school and college. Speaking of college, you can get a CSF award in high school that makes your applications look amazing for college.. There are two different awards: you can receive one for good grades in three semesters or if you qualify for four semesters you have to do 10 service hours for a medallion.
How to qualify for the awards:
- You can not have any “N” or “U”s
- You can not have any D/F’s
- There is a point system Each letter grade on your report card represents a number
–A=3 pts B=1pt C you need 10 points to qualify.
Seventh graders:
- 7th graders will receive an invitation to join a CJSF canvas class later in February
- Fill out the application when assigned
- Submit the application and you are done
Eighth graders:
- Eighth graders had the opportunity to apply for CJSF using 7th-grade reports up until Jan 31st
- Open the CJSF course
- Fill out application
- Submit and you are done
8th graders are currently applying for CJSF using their first-semester report cards received in January. 8th graders who applied and qualified for 3 semesters receive a service log from their social studies teacher (Adras or Hayek). Students who complete service hours and have qualifying grades this semester will earn a medallion. Students who do not do service hours but qualify for 3 semesters can earn a certificate and a pin
