Sabrina Carpenter’s stardom is known to everyone, especially within the past year. But did you know she has SIX albums spanning over the past 10 years? Many may not know that before her “new” entry into the mainstream, she had made many different types of music and had an established career in acting. Sabrina’s evolution over the years has not been exactly short and sweet.
Her Journey From Disney Star to Pop Star
Many know Sabrina Carpenter as the character she played in Girl Meets World, Maya Hart. Girl Meets World is a sequel to the very popular 90s show, Boy Meets World. Sabrina has made many appearances in movies and television, in movies like Tall Girl, Adventures in Baby Sitting, Work It, and much, much more. She has also appeared in shows like Sofia the First and Milo Murphy’s Law, and the list goes on. It’s safe to say she has always been in the industry. Before her album ‘emails i can’t send,’ she had released 4 albums throughout her career.
The Eras Tour and Taylor Swift
Sabrina Carpenter has always been a fan of Taylor Swift, so when she started opening for the record-breaking Eras Tour, it’s safe to say she was living every Swiftie’s dream. Not only was she touring with possibly one of the most iconic artists in the world, but it also expanded her audience to a large fandom.
Espresso
Sabrina had the whole world singing the catchy lyrics to her hit “Espresso”, released in April of 2024. Although she has had many hits before (“Feather”, “Nonsense”, “Thumbs”, etc.), none broke records like “Espresso” did. As of February 28, it has about 2 billion streams on Spotify, has been nominated for two Grammys, and has won one Grammy. I guess you could say she was working late because she’s a singer!
Short N Sweet + Tour
Sabrina’s 6th album, ‘Short N Sweet,’ was released in 2024 on August 23rd. This album (and ‘emails i can’t send’) for sure set her apart from the first four albums she released as a Disney Channel actress, with a plethora of more mature songs significantly different from the ones she released in her Disney days. Along with the announcement of Short N Sweet, Sabrina announced the tour for the album on February 28th, 2024, and kicked off the North American leg of the tour in Columbus, Ohio, on September 23rd, 2024. No one quite expected the hassle it would take just to secure tickets. The Short N Sweet tour is possibly one of the most talked-about tours in 2024 and 2025.
Recently, Carpenter released the Deluxe version of Short N Sweet, which includes five new tracks, one featuring the legend Dolly Parton on one of Sabrina’s many hit songs, “Please, Please, Please.” She has also announced more dates for another brief North American leg coming this fall.
Sabrina Carpenter has made a major breakthrough after years of hard work, and it has definitely been well-deserved. She is now a Grammy Award Winner! Do you listen to Sabrina? If so, what’s your favorite song by her? Leave a comment!
