Have you seen Shrek around the school? Probably not, but now is your chance! On March 20th and 21st, the first-ever TMS Performing Arts Project show will be in the MPR, performing Shrek the Musical Jr.! Students in this new club, created and led by high school students, have been auditioning and rehearsing Shrek the Musical since September, with singing, dancing, and more!
What is the Performing Arts Project?
This club was created by TVHS seniors who wanted to create a musical theater club for students. They wanted to teach kids how to break out of their comfort zones and have fun while learning to perform a musical! In this club, kids of all levels joined together, some with years of experience and some who had never performed before!
Seeing Shrek the Musical
This group of about 30 students first went through the audition process in September, and since then have been rehearsing after school weekly to put together this amazing show. Shrek the Musical is among the best musicals to see with your family or friends! It’s filled with Fairytale Creatures, talking donkeys, and unusually short Kings. They will perform on March 20th and 21st at 6 pm in the MPR! You can buy tickets online starting March 6th or in person that day for only 7 dollars! All the money is going to next year’s musical.
