Teachers have been known for rivalries, friendships, and favorite students, but which one is the best? It all comes down to the students’ opinions. They will decide on the best teacher for each subject. Social studies teachers will be the first victim. This school has a few history teachers; Mr. Fonseca, Mr. Salcedo, Mr. Adras, Mr. Molstre, and Mrs. Hayek. They will be fighting for the position of best history teacher!
Emma Keatly, Bella Lujan, Kaitlyn Schepe, Caitlin Wright, Easton Mckenzie, Lucas Zuniga, Charlotte Jacobs, and Aliyah Allen. Their votes helped decide the best history teacher.
Questions:
What teachers have you had? Which one was your favorite, and what do you like about them?
“This year I have Mr. Fonseca, last year I had Mrs. Sarkis. Mrs. Sarkis, she wasn’t really there until the end of the second semester but she was really nice and I like Mr Fonseca more because he’s funny.”
7th grader, Bella Lujan
“This year I have Mr. Adras and last year I had Mr. Salcedo. Mr. Salcedo last year, he was funny and Mr. Adras’s tests were easy. I think I like Mr Adras because he has a good sense of humor.”
7th grader, Emma Keatly
“I had Mr. Fonseca and Mr. Salcedo. Mr. Salcedo was super funny and Mr Fonseca… has nice study guides? My favorite teacher is the G.O.A.T Salcedo!”
7th grader, Lucas Zuniga
“I had Salcedo and Molstre. Mr. Molstre is my favorite teacher because he helps do the notes and all the annotations and that helps me learn because I am more of a person who likes to write it down rather than read it. Mr. Salcedo Is funny and a really good teacher.”
7th grader, Kaitlyn Schepe
“I had Mr. Molstre and Mr. Salcedo. Mr. Molstre is my favorite! I love Mr. Molstre because he’s supportive and he actually teaches and he’s a good teacher! And I like Mr. Salcedo because he’s funny.”
7th grader, Charlotte Jacobs
“I had Mr. Salcedo and now Mr. Fonseca. Mr. Salcedo tells good stories and Mr. Fonseca used to let us retake our tests! Salcedo was better.”
7th grader, Aliyah Allen
“I’ve had Mr. Salcedo and Mrs. Hayek. My favorite teacher was Mr. Salcedo. I like Mr. Salcedo because his teaching way is very repetitive and it helps me learn a lot, and I’m also besties with “Mr. Salcedo. And then Mrs. Hayek, I love the way she teaches, it’s different from Mr. Salcedo but it’s still just as beneficial. And I like the way she grades more on participation and if you complete the assignment, then if you get stuff wrong.”
8th grader, Catlin Wright
“I’ve had Molstre, Salcedo, and Adras. Mr Adras is my favorite. He kinda reminds me of Gargamel from The Smurfs and he is chill.”
8th grader, Easton Mckenzie
As proven by their students, it seems that history teachers are known for being funny, supportive, and overall great teachers! They nourish their students’ learning careers and prepare them for the next steps in life. But, without further ado, the winner for the title of “Best History Teacher” goes to… Mr. Salcedo! Just because Salcedo won the votes, that doesn’t mean all the other teachers aren’t amazing. With that, thanks to the teachers who rewrite history at TMS.
