From Math to Salsa: The Many Amazing sides of Mr. Carbajal

Mr. Carbajal is a familiar face that we see around campus every day! This year he teaches only eighth grade classes but he has taught a variety of grades! There are so many great things about Mr. Carbajal and what he does for us at TMS. That’s why we are spotlighting him on this addition! 

Let’s dive into all the questions so we can get to know Mr.Carbajal better!!

What year did you start teaching?

“2007”

What is one thing students would find surprising about you?

“I cut my own hair, and I am also excellent at salsa dancing.”

Have you only ever taught at a middle school or other schools to?

“I taught at a high school for 2 years.”

What is your favorite thing about teaching?

“My favorite thing about teaching is when a student thinks they aren’t good at math but never gives up, so they become good at math.”

Why did you decide to become a teacher?

“In high school I had no idea what I wanted to do and all my friends said I should be a teacher.”

What is something you do in your free time?

“I like to exercise, dance with my wife, and play chess.”
