Things that you should know about Queen Elizabeth’s life. Queen Elizabeth died after 70 years on the throne. She died Thursday, September 8, 2022 afternoon and now King Charles the third is stepping up to the throne. So now the currency will be changed to his face. Did you know that King Charles III is the son of Queen Elizabeth? Queen Elizabeth was born on April 21, 1926. Queen Elizabeth got married in November of 1947 to Philip Mountbatten. Another fun fact about Queen Elizabeth is that she was the first child and was not expected to get the throne. Queen Elizabeth owned 30 corgis in her lifetime. The dogs slept in their own room in Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth left most of her belongings to her son, the heir to the throne. Elizabeth’s popularity grew so much that her popularity made them a lot more money. During World War II, the future queen served as a second subaltern- the equivalent of a second lieutenant- in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service, the women’s branch of the British Army. She trained as an auto mechanic. Elizabeth was a keen equestrian and could often be spotted riding in the grounds of Windsor outside London. We will all remember you and will miss you so much.
